Duties of a Live out Housekeeper
A stay out housekeeper is someone who does general cleaning tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, making beds, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, and mopping floors, they can buy food, cook and serve meals, and do laundry for family members, and they usually work for several households, spending different days and hours a week with each one.
The duties of individual domestic housekeepers vary widely. Some have complete responsibility and authority to plan and carry out many household duties, and others are given very specific duties and are closely supervised. Sometimes they care for children, helping them to eat, dress, and bathe.
They may also be responsible for disciplining children and entertaining. Also sometimes housekeepers perform such services as answering the telephone, receiving visitors, and exercising pets.
About our candidates:
We recruit all our candidates, who come from all over the world, very carefully All of them are interviewed thoroughly, and must have minimum 3 three years’ experience in domestic services, suitable references that can be checked, good spoken English, together with the knowledge of how to work in a house that is presented and run to a good standard.
All our candidates will have minimum 5 years experience in private houses and domestic services (and in a similar job position as the one you need), and e x c e l l e n t checked references from former employers with whom we have been in personally in contact. The telephone numbers of the employers/references would be provided if requested by the client, once the candidate is selected and fees settled and after getting the authorization of the previous employers.
For us is extremely important to screen our candidates and check their references with their previous employers and we take really seriously to follow a strict recruitment process in order to find our each of our candidates
Working hours and system of a Sta out housekeeper or nanny
The maximum working hours of a Stay out is 40 hours a week. The minimum working hours that we service is 20 hours a week.
They need break for lunch/rest of 20 minutes at least in the middle of the day when they are working more than 6 consecutive hours a day.
The hourly rate of a Stay- out housekeeper/nanny varies and depends on many different criteria (language/s, distance location of the house, driving license and/or car needed, qualification, duties to carry, period of the year, part time/full time etc), but the market salary in Marbella and the area starts from approx 10€/ hour net.
On top, the insurance (called Spanish Social security quotas) that for a long term full time housekeeper (40 hours/week) amount approx. 450€/month for a full time.
Mary Poppins Services acts as an intermediary, so the candidate is not hired by us. According to the Spanish Social Security Law, a member of the family has to sign up as employer (just once, and only if you have never been an employer in Spain before) and register the contract of the employee under the Spanish Regime of Domestic Staff (Régimen Especial de la Seguridad Social de los Empleados de Hogar). This contract is subscribed between the employer and the employee, not with the agency, and the salary is paid directly to the employee every month normally by Bank transfer.
In Spain the domestic staff contracts are only made and registered in the Spanish system by the gestorías (kind of labour offices who are the only one entitled to do it), as agencies cannot do this. You can ask your lawyer/advisor about it, but if you do not have or know any gestoría here, we can put you in contact with ours, that we fully trust and recommend, and they take care of everything; their fees amount 75€ approx.
If you have never been an employer in Spain please let us know and we will explain the process to follow, and this is it to be made just for the first time and only once.
Fees & Guarantee
The fees of our agency for a long term stay out housekeeper amount one month salary of the candidate selected (+ V.A.T 21%) and they include a guarantee to be explained hereinafter in case you were not completely satisfied with her.
As our aim is that each of our client is happy with our services, so we offer a free guarantee during 5 months of 3 replacements in case you were not completely satisfied with the candidate, or if she leaves or quits the job with no fair reason, so we will automatically introduce another candidate of same profile within the next 10 working days.
This guarantee will be valid as long as the conditions agreed with the agency and the candidate have been fulfilled and respected. The fees of the agency will not be refunded
Once we inform you that we can help with your enquiry, we start immediately with your search.
Withing the next 1-5 days, (depending on the requested profile) we will introduce a candidate. We use to introduce maximum 3 candidates, as we only propose those screened candidates that have all the criteria that a client indicates, so nobody spends time unnecessarily.
Even a CV brings important information, lately we are feeling that sending our clients introductory videos made by the candidates themselves helps them a lot to know more about them and it brings additional info that a paper could never do. We can see that our clients love this way more and more as much as we do.
When a client likes any of the candidates introduced, we arrange between them a personal interview, if possible, or a Zoom interview, according to the availability of both parties. After that, we ask both parties their impressions and according to that, the selection process goes further.
If after the interview a client wants the candidate to start, and the candidate is happy as well, then she /they can start working according to what they both agree, and our fees are due then and are paid.
