The Live in housekeepers are provided with a room and meals in addition to their weekly or monthly salary. In terms of living space, families will provide a separate bedroom for the Live in housekeeper. The more privacy you can offer, the higher calibre of candidate you will attract.
Duties of a typical Housekeeper
A Live-in housekeepers will ensure the house is always clean, neat, tidy and welcoming. They may also undertake some light outdoor duties such putting out rubbish for collection.
A live in housekeeper duties can include:
- Cleaning
- Laundry
- Cooking
- Childcare
- Running errands and organizing the home
- Driving (shopping and school runs etc) (those one with driving license)
- Pet care
- Supervision of other staff
- Specialist skills, such as care of a couture wardrobe or antiques and other artifact
- Carrying out any other tasks that the employer may reasonably ask
About our candidates: We do a specific search and selection to find appropriate live in housekeeper candidates who match your family’s requirements. We always do reference and documentation check to all our candidates. We will share our interview notes with you so you can better understand the profile & personality of each candidate we introduce.
All our candidates have legal working permit in Spain, minimum 3 years experience in domestic services and in a similar position, and excellent checked references from former employers with whom we have been in contact. The telephone numbers of the employers/references would be provided if requested by the client, once the candidate is selected and fees settled, and always after having the consent of the family.
The market salary of an English speaking Live-in housekeeper in Spain, starts from 1400€/ month (14 payments a year) + the Spanish Insurance (Social Security quotas), plus one month paid holiday a year.
The Spanish Social security quotas (Insurance) amount approx 450€/month and they have 4 weeks holidays paid a year.
Working hours and system of a Stay in nanny/housekeeper:
The maximum working hours of a Stay-in housekeeper is 10 hours a day having a break for lunch/rest of 2 hours in the middle of the day (from Mondays to Fridays and Saturdays they work until lunch time). Max total a week 45 hours/week.
As rest time, 10 hours have to elapse between the hour that she goes to rest to her room at evenings and the time that she has to be ready to work next morning.
Weekly rest will be 1.5 day off a week (36 consecutive hours, usually Saturday afternoon or Monday morning and whole Sunday), and they have the right to enjoy Spanish bank holidays.
