How much should I pay for a Live in caregiver in Spain?

The salary of a full time, English speaking, Live – in caregiver in Spain starts from 1400€/ month net (14 monthly payments a year) + Spanish Social Security quotas (insurance) + holidays (30 days a year). The Spanish Social security quotas (Insurance) amount approx 450€/month

Also food and accommodation are provided by the family.

Working hours and conditions of a Stay in caregiver in Spain

The max working hours of a Stay in caregiver is 10 hours a day having a break for lunch/rest of 2 hours in the middle of the day. They work max total a week 45 hours.

They can work 5.5 days a week, weekly rest will be 1.5 day off a week (36 consecutive hours, usually Saturday afternoon or Monday morning and whole Sunday).

They have 4 weeks paid holiday a year, and they have the right to enjoy Spanish bank holidays (approx. 14 days a year). We can send you the list of these days if you wish for your information

The caregiver should be provided with own furnished bedroom and bathroom with TV.

Contract & Insurance (S.S) of a caregiver in Spain

Our agency acts as an intermediary, so according to the Spanish Social Security Law, a member of the family has to sign up as employer (just once, and only if you have never been an employer in Spain before) and register the contract of the employee under the Spanish Regime of Domestic Staff (Régimen Especial de la Seguridad Social de los Empleados de Hogar).

This contract is subscribed between the employer and the employee, not with the agency, and the salary is paid directly to the employee every month normally by Bank transfer.

In Spain the domestic staff contracts are made and registered in the system by the gestorías (kind of labour offices), as agencies are not doing that. You can ask your lawyer/advisor about it, but if you do not have or know any gestoría here, we can put you in contact with ours, that we fully trust and recommend, and they take care of everything.

In order to make the contract in Spain, the gestoría will ask you to provide the following documentation: copy of the passport, Spanish N.I.E number (essential), address in Spain, Spanish telephone number, your email address, and the details of a Bank account in Spain to arrange the direct debit of the Spanish Insurance (Cuotas de la seguridad social) by the Spanish system. If you have any doubt or question about this, we would be happy to advice you on this.

If you have never been a employer in Spain please Let us know and we will explain the process to follow, and this is it to be made just for the first time and only once.

Our fees & Guarantee

The fees of our agency amount 1 month salary of the candidate selected (+ V.A.T 21%) (it is a just once payment) and they include free guarantee during 5 months of 3 replacements in case you were not completely satisfied with the candidate, so we will automatically introduce another candidate within the next 10 working days.

How do we work

Once we confirm you that we can help your with your enquiry, we start with your search immediately.

Withing the next 1-6 days (depending on the requested profile) we will introduce a candidate. We use to introduce from 1 to max 3 of them, as we only propose those screened candidates that have all the criteria that a client indicate, so nobody spends time unnecessarily.

Even a CV brings the important information, lately we are feeling that sending our clients introductory videos made by the candidates themselves helps them a lot to know more about them and it brings additional info that a paper could never do. We can see that our clients love this way more and more as much as we do.

When a client likes any of the candidate introduced, we arrange between them a personal interview, if possible, or a Zoom interview, according to the availability of both parties. If after the interview a client wants a candidate to start, and the candidate is happy as well, then everybody is happy. We get paid our fees and they start the relation between them.
